TV There's a satellite dish which receives numerous UK channels with the exception of the channel 5 group. BBC1 to BBC4, the ITV group, Channel 4, More 4, Film 4 and many others are available and the UK radio channels are accessible through the TV.

ADSL is also available (cat 5 and wireless) and runs at around 1.5mbps. As this is a rural location it is possible that a falling tree can take this out but this is a rarity.

Cooking

There is a gas cooker (four burners and oven), a microwave oven, electric kettle, cafetiere, plates, bowls, knives forks spoons, cups, glasses, pots and pans, corkscrew, etc, etc. Please ask if you want to know whether it's worth packing any item and we'll let you know if it's already there. There is also a barbecue on the patio with a picnic table and chairs.

Miscellaneous

An iron, a vacuum cleaner and various brooms and brushes (in case you miss cleaning when you're on holiday).

Gas

The oven runs on butane gas (cylinder under the sink) and the water heater runs on propane (cylinder outside, behind ithe kitchen). If these run out they can be swapped for filled cylinders in many places (eg Serpins hardware shop, the Continente hypermarket in Lousa, etc). How to change the gas.

Wood

wood is delivered by the lorryload and is kept in the woodstore beneath the annex (down the small steps to the left of the annex door).
